How to properly install our free software applications

Posted on April 22, 2012 at 7:15 AM

This is an informational tutorial on how to install our software applications without breaking a sweat.  ;)

Installation instructions for Windows 95 - XP:

If your are running Windows 95 up-to Windows XP on your computer, you will not have any problems installing and running all our desktop and portable software. Microsoft created these operating systems perfectly and they run perfectly too with our applications.

Installation instructions for Windows Vista / 7 / 8 / 10:

If on the other hand you have Windows Vista / 7 / 8 or 10 installed, you may experience some difficulty depending which software you are installing. Most of our installshield software will not have any problem running on your system, as long as you run them as an administrator. Simply right-click on the setup executable and select the "Run as Administrator" option in the popup shortcut menu. That's all you need to do.

If you are running one of the portable database or spreadsheet software{QT Calc} applications, you will have to run them with administrator rights. Again, you will only need to right-click on the executable or icon and select the "Run as Administrator" option. You will only need to do this once.

Desktop Database Software:

As for running desktop database software on Windows Vista / 7 / 8 and 10, you will need to make the administrator rights permanent.

You will need to do the following:

- Find the application executable or shortcut icon and right-click on it and select "Properties..." - {at the bottom of the popup menu}

- Go to the Compatibility tab and change the following settings:

- At the bottom, select the "Run this program as an administrator". This will grant you access to run the applications successfully.

- Press on "Apply" and then press "OK". The database program should run now.

The above instructions are only necessary for MonoBase, Invoice Master, and the main start-up menu for the Blade Runner office suite.

64 Bit Windows Systems:

If you have a 64 bit Windows system, you will need to adjust the database path for Invoice Master, as the program file's folder has a different description - C:\Program Files x86\  instead of the usual path C:\Program Files\ for 32 bit systems.

Here are two ways in getting our database software running on 64-Bit Windows systems:

To correct this problem, simply do the following:

1. Go to your control panel and open the "BDE Administrator" - {classic view}

2. Select the "Database" header to list all the databases

3. If your application is listed, make sure it's path is correctly shown on the right-hand side

4. To change the path to the correct one, simply double-click on the path shown and find the database folder where you installed it.

The correct path for Windows 64 bit systems must be the following:  C:\Program File x86\AppName\Data

Here's the other way:

1. A quick and easy way of installing Invoice Master:

After you have unzipped the downloaded file, you must find and open the "BDEMerge.ini" file with Notepad.

The contents will look like the following:

[EZInvoice]
Driver=PARADOX
Params=PATH:C:\Program Files\SSuiteInvoice\DataBase;ENABLE BCD:FALSE
BDEDriver=STANDARD
[Drivers]
Driver0=Microsoft Paradox Driver (*.db)

Change the path to the following: Params=PATH:C:\Program Files (x86)\SSuiteInvoice\DataBase;ENABLE BCD:FALSE

This will ensure a proper installation without any problems. Just remember to run the application as an "Administrator".

That is it, if you follow the above instructions, everything will run smooth as can be.

Please also remember to read the "Read Me" file after you have installed these software.

Using a compatible document format to play nice with everybody...

If you need to create and exchange MS Word documents(*.doc) as a rule, then there is another way in staying completely compatible with everybody, no matter what software they use. This format is the most compatible document format currently available next to the rich text document format.

Simply save all your documents in MS Word or SSuite WordGraph in the following manner:

Only use RTF documents from SSuite Office!  When you save your documents, use this format...    Word 97-2003 & 6.0/95 - RTF (*.doc).

To simplify this procedure in MS Word, simply go to the "Tools >> Options..." menu item, and under the "Save" tab item, select your default document type as the above mentioned document type. This will ensure that all your documents will stay compatible no matter where you need to use them, either in MS Word or SSuite Office's WordGraph word processor. This procedure may also be used in Word 95 up to Word 2007.

 -----------------------------------------------------------------------

All Excel documents created in SpreadForm One and Accel, are fully compatible with any spreadsheet application that can open and read the Excel file format. Excel files created in Excel itself, are locked to prevent other office suites from being compatible with MS Office. To open these locked Excel files, follow the steps below.

Please Note! - This procedure cannot be used in Excel 2007 or Excel 2010. Microsoft does not support older formats in Excel 2007 and Excel 2010 that are below the standard Office 97. Click here for further details.

For compatibility with Excel, use the following method:

To make a Single Excel 97(or Higher - 2003) worksheet compatible with SSuite Office's SpreadForm One and Accel, follow these steps:

  1. Save your active Excel 97(or Higher - 2003) Worksheet as an Excel 4 Worksheet.
  2. Immediately save the same worksheet as an Excel Workbook, using the "Save As" function,  with a different name as the worksheet.
  3. You can now open your Excel 4 worksheet in SpreadForm One or Accel as an Excel spreadsheet.

Please Note - For further information, see the helpfile under File Handling.

You need to set your ring tone in the settings window. This will ensure proper working of the application.

Thank you.

I appreciate the software you make available and would like to compliment you on a LOT of quality work. But, of course, people only write when they have problems and today I am having problems with Squeaker. I think part fo the trouble is my network routing, but it is compounded by the fact that Squeaker appears to have no user control over interface selection. My system has a number of interfaces reported by netstat, because VMware (for one) has created virtual interfaces.
Is there some way I can specify the interface Squeaker should use?
Please consider this a feature request across the whole range of communication products.
Thanks, Cliff

This message is for all those who get the following error:

"No MCI Device Open"

To correct this problem, just select a ringtone or any sound file for your communications application in the settings window. This error will only show up on old editions of our video software.

Thank you kindly

1. Go to your control panel and open the "BDE Administrator" - {classic view}
Don't have the "BDE Administrator" in my Lenovo (Desktop Computer) 64-bit Windows 7 Ultimate control panel. What is it for? Or, what does it do? Or, what does it change in Win7/64? Does it have another name? [I'm running in U.S.A. English.]

Dear JPD,

Thank you very much for contacting us. :)

The BDE Administrator is the main database engine that controls the database that you just installed on your computer. It does not make any changes to your Windows system.

Just remember that you must run the application that you installed as an administrator. Just right-click on the executable or icon short-cut and select "Run as Administrator" option on the popup menu.

------------------------------------------------------------

The BDE Admin icon can be found in your Control panel window.

I have made a screenshot as to where it is, and how it looks:

Just click or load the above link to view where to find the BDE Administrator control panel applet.

Kind regards

downloaded the DIYvehicle maintenance program. LIke the concept. When i try to print an invoice it cuts off part of the invoice and no matter what direction i scan it, it cuts off the important information like invoice numbers and dates. I have an HP printer. I tried to scan the picture in a bigger size and that didnt help either. what do i need to do to adjust. If I go into the actual jpeg file that i scanned, i can see the entire picture, just not from your program.

Hi Juli,

You need scan the image to a smaller size, 100DPI and 80% size reduction. Unfortunately the database can only take a certain size of scanned image.

If it is to big, it will cut off certain parts, as you have seen. Try to select as above, a 100dpi setting and a 80% image size.

Hi Donald,

The spell check icon is the "ABC" with green check mark icon next to the format painter in the middle of the document toolbar.

If you want direct access to the spell checker executable itself, go to the folder where you saved the notebook editor application.

Open the folder named "Spell Checker". The spell checker name is "GIRSpCheck.exe".

Please us the "Contact Us" response form to communicate any problems with us. The link can be found on the "Support" web page, below the helpful first line of support icons. Thank you.

Kind regards

Hi Neil,

I think you may have downloaded the wrong application, Writer's D'Lite does not ask for a password when being run.

Try this download:
